At FPC we seek to encourage children in their faith while providing quality care. We nurture a familiarity with God’s Word, a delight in a personal relationship with God, and strong inter-generational and peer connections. Interactive, engaging communities are the heart of our ministry to children.

The Rooms
Nursery (Birth – Three Years Old) Babies and young children are always welcome to remain with their parents in the sanctuary. They are also welcome in our nursery where they will be lovingly cared for by our dedicated nursery helpers who are Red Cross CPR certified.

When is Kid’s Communities Held?
Children sit with their families in worship at 9:30 o’clock each week and the continue together in an age-specific worshiping community downstairs following the Children’s Message.
The 1st Sunday of the month is Youth Sunday. On Youth Sundays children stay in worship with their families where they take an active role in worship engage in such roles as reader, usher, acolyte, greeter, etc.
What Curriculum do you use?
Preschool-Kindergarten Community: This community engages in the Godly Play curriculum, a Montessori-based method of Christian Formation. Godly Play was created by Jerome Berryman to give children the faith language to express the mysterious presence of God in their lives. Each child’s individual relationship with God is drawn out and strengthened through this approach. Godly Play mirrors our Order of Worship and forms children for a lifetime of involvement in corporate worship.Children’s Message.
1st-2nd Grade Community: This community engages in the Growing in Grace & Gratitude curriculum, a Presbytery created curriculum. Growing in Grace & Gratitude is rooted in the foundation of Presbyterian identity where God’s grace and our gratitude are the heartbeat of our faith, life, and worship; extends an invitation to discipleship that inspires children to learn and practice hospitality, generosity, and love; and reaches beyond Sunday Morning, encouraging children to live their lives as an expression of God’s grace.
3rd-5th Grade Community: This community engages in Bible Study uses the Deep Blue Sea Bible curriculum. Lessons are biblically grounded, educationally sound, flexible, fun, and help children experience each Bible story. Lessons prepare them to make the transition to youth group, emphasizing nurturing faithful relationships while engaging the students in fun and creative activities.
